Riassunto This study examines the CLIL materials used in a social studies English programme in Bangkok. Students had difficulty studying the materials bacause they could only understand a small percentage of the text. This paper presents a multiannual action-research project based on two groups of data: (a) observations, interviews and questionnaires; (b) descriptive data regarding books and websites. It is on this second type of data that the author focuses most of observations set out in the article. As a result, specifications for reading and writing CLIL classroom materials were devised. The specifications created an integrated approach to CLIL classroom work, wich allowed students to become more interactive when studying. Yhe specifications could also be transferred to any other content- based subject.
